Until 1993, Slovakia
formed the eastern part of what used to
be called Czechoslovakia. The country has
a traditional appeal and tourists are attracted
by its castles, old towns, museums and mountain
resorts. Popular events include the Vychondna
Folklore Festival and the summer rock and
jazz festivals in Bratislava.
