Before the conflicts
of the 1990s, Serbia and Montenegro were
part of the former Yugoslavia. The region
is emerging from that troubled period, however
the regions resorts have yet to regain the
popularity with tourists that they previously
enjoyed. Events in Belgrade include a film
festival held in February, a theatre festival
held in September and a classical music
festival in October. In July and August
Budva in Montenegro holds a summer festival.
