Visitors to Denmark
can enjoy the history and nightlife of its
capital Copenhagen as well as historic castles
and old towns. Attractions include Lego
Land and the Tivolli Gardens. The country
is best visited during the Summer, when
its sandy beaches and green fields are at
their best. Denmark hosts many popular festivals
such as the Copenhagen Jazz Festival in
early July, the Roskilde rock Festival in
late June or early July and the Copenhagen
Summer Festival, which features classical
concerts, during the last week of July and
the first two weeks of August.
Geography: Denmark is a north european
country bordering the Baltic Sea and the
North Sea. It is a land of flat plains consisting
of a peninsula, north of Germany, and two
major islands.
Getting
There: Regular flights are available from many
European cities to Copenhagen Airport, which is
located 8 km from the capital. Regular train services
run from Hamburg to Copenhagen and Jutland. Ferries
sail to Danish ports from other northern European
countries.
