After decades of Soviet
Style dictatorship and poverty, Albania
is opening up to tourism, though it is not
yet a well visited destination. Some of
the countries attractions include the Mediterranean
climate, mountains, forests and a wide range
of animal life including lynx, bears, golden
eagles and wolves. The sun shines warmly
from May onward, reaching its hottest in
July. The country is best visited in September,
when the days are long and warm. Independence
and Liberation Day is held on the 28th of
November.
