The capital of Estonia,
Tallinn is a city on the Gulf of Finland. Tallinn
is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe
and a World Heritage site and is becoming an increasingly
popular destination for tourists. In the historic
old town visitors can walk through cobbled courtyards
and along streets past centuries old houses and churches.
Popular tourist attractions include the Estonian
Open Air Museum, Kadriorg Palace and Park and Rocca
al mare Tivoli amusement park. At the Tallinn Science
and Technology Centre, visitors can see exhibitions
of the arts and sciences. The city has an active nightlife
of bars and nightclubs and there are restaurants offering
food ranging from traditional local recipes to those
of many other countries.
Driving in Tallinn is easier than in many other European
capitals and if you decide to drive your own vehicle
or a rental car in the city, you should find adequate
parking space. Public transport includes a network
of trams and buses, which run between 6am and 11pm.
Tickets can be bought from bus drivers and newsstands.
Alternatively you could purchase a Tallinn card, providing
you with unlimited travel on public transport and
free or discounted entry to a range of tourist attractions.
Also Taxis should be easy to find, whether prebooked
or hailed on the streets.
